Many Voices
One Movement
About the theme
The strength of a movement lives in the voices that carry it forward. As we build the future of Black philanthropy, we are reminded that progress has always been powered by many people working toward a shared purpose.
Many Voices One Movement Is an affirmation of how this work continues to grow.
In a movement built on many voices, philanthropy takes many forms. We honor the voices that have shaped a long tradition of giving, grounded in collective care and community-driven investment.
This work doesn’t belong to one organization. This year the tradition continues of inviting leaders, organizations, and global communities to join us in this work.

BACKBLACK X BLACK PHILANTHROPY MONTH 2026
A Powerful New Chapter
In 2024, Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland—the visionary founder of Black Philanthropy Month—named Floyd Jones as the Global Chair, ushering in a bold new era for this global movement. As of 2025, all operations for Black Philanthropy Month have officially merged under the BackBlack umbrella, aligning two powerful forces committed to resourcing, celebrating, and amplifying Black-led change around the world.
BackBlack is a movement to direct capital, grow capacity, and build community for Black-led nonprofits. By uniting our efforts under one banner, we’re not just celebrating Black giving—we’re expanding it, strengthening it, and building the largest ecosystem for Black changemakers around the globe.
